Granger was founded in 1883 and named after the National Grange Order of Patrons of Husbandry (aka “The Grange”). The Grange promotes agricultural interests in the United States and has a presence in most US States.
The Town
With a population of 30,465 according to the 2010 census, Granger is best know for being mostly a highly sought after place to raise a family because of its location and one of the top school districts in Indiana.

University of Notre Dame
Granger also has very unique sites to visit very close to town. Located within 10 miles, is the prestigious University of Notre Dame. Not only a top university in the United States, but is home to the iconic Notre Dame Stadium which is home to the football team. Also, Notre Dame has a proud tradition of basketball and the 2 time National Champions women’s basketball team.
Shipshewana
Another very unique spot is just east on the Indiana Toll Road, is the famous amish town of Shipshewana. People come from all over the country to shop at the famous furniture stores and take in some of the shows that are offered.
